At 11 months Roan is able to stand with chest high support, but her balance is still precarious, and she falls to the side when she reaches for toys.
In order to provide her with a safe environment for practicing standing and reaching, I have positioned high density foam blocks on either side and behind her. The side blocks stop her from falling sideways, and the block behind her allows her to sit down safely. The lateral surface of the block in front of Roan allows her to lean against the it, improving the stability of the position.

This configuration of support allows her to stand up on her own.

With practice she starts learns to make the postural adjustments needed for reaching for toys without falling over.

Reviewing this video, I can see that it would have been better to move the sitting block further away from the front support block so that she could stand with more hip flexion, increasing the A-P dimension of her BoS.
